SE77389: RDI 9.6.0.11 MEMBER COMPARE SHOWS CORRUPTED CHARACTERS WHEN MEMBER HAS NO TYPE

APAR status

Error description

• When comparing two source members in Rational Developer for i
  (RDI) 9.6.0.11, if a member has no source member type specified,
  then the compare view may show corrupted characters for
  characters in the source member which are beyond the basic Latin
  set of characters.
  

Local fix

• Arrange to do the compare using a non-blank member type (eg.
  TXT)  for the member by either temporarily setting the type, or
  copying the member to a temporary location and setting the
  member type there. Note. In RDI one needs to specify *BLANK to
  clear a member type value.
