  • The following error messages were received when attempting to
build HALDB secondary index with IMS V8:

+DFS2499W INVALID ALLOCATE   REQUEST FOR DATABASE xxxxxxx  FOR
REASON 2
+IIUH0622E HSSR FAILED IN PARTITION SELECTION; REQUEST=FIRST ,
RC=04, RSN=4020

This error occurs after applying IMS V8 APAR PQ78758.

IMS PQ78758 introduced all/none allocation check for IMS V8
HALDB components. IB are reading HALDB storage maps to obtain
REORG number, so they have to allocate.

Problem conclusion

  • IB deallocate before launching HPU for HALDB scan.
