The following error messages were received when attempting to build HALDB secondary index with IMS V8: +DFS2499W INVALID ALLOCATE REQUEST FOR DATABASE xxxxxxx FOR REASON 2 +IIUH0622E HSSR FAILED IN PARTITION SELECTION; REQUEST=FIRST , RC=04, RSN=4020 This error occurs after applying IMS V8 APAR PQ78758.

IB are reading HALDB storage maps to obtain REORG number, so they have to allocate.
Problem conclusion

IB deallocate before launching HPU for HALDB scan.
