Error description
When listing messages from a destination when a large amount of messages are queued, a QCF end (PF3) causes userid.BROWSES to remain allocated to the user, which in turn causes message IEC999I and abendc03 at user ISPF logoff. An example of the sequence of commands is as follows: Query > List All > Select Lterm and > (L) on a printer with about 4500 messages queued. The dataset gets freed as expected when there is not a large amount of messages queued.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of QCF ISPF (panels) functions. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After executing "L-list" line command * * to list all messages within the * * selected line (destination),the data * * set "BROWSES" ramains open and second * * QCF session cannot be started without * * new logon to TSO/ISPF. * * This happens only if there are more * * than 3000 messages with the selected * * destination and the user does not list * * all messages. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Install the APAR/PTF. * **************************************************************** After exiting list function, data set BROWSES stays open and can not be allocated for second QCF session within same session of TSO. This happens only if there are more than 3000 messages with the selected destination. The proccess does not go to the end of data set to shorten the response time- data set stays open. If there are less than 3000 messages , or the user lists all messages sellecting the option to list next portion of 3000 messages- data set "BROWSES' is closed after EOF condiotion.
Problem conclusion
Programs are changed to close data set "BROWSES' after exiting list messages within the selected destination.
