Error description
This APAR will fix the following problems: 1) ABEND0C4 in BPLTRACE task if DLI batch job ends before GTF initialization completes and buffer pool analyzer gathers batch job information. 2) Intermittent MSGBPL276E when an IMS batch job starts while BPLTRACE is waiting for job start. 3) Incorrect abend code and DBD name in MSGBPL205E. 4) IMS control region trace receives MSGBPL205E if IMSDALIB is used for DFSMDA dynamic allocation modules.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS Buffer Pool Analyzer users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND0C4 in BPLTRACE task if DLI batch * * job ends before GTF initialization * * completes and Buffer Pool Analyzer * * gathers batch job information. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Run the Buffer Pool Analyzer against a * * longer running batch job. The BPLTRACE * * abend will not impact the batch job or * * any other jobs. Installing this * * maintenance will reduce the window in * * which the problem may occur, and will * * prevent BPLTRACE from abending. However, * * there will be no useful trace information * * if GTF initialization completes after the * * batch job ends. * **************************************************************** ABEND0C4 in BPLTRACE task if DLI batch job ends before GTF initialization completes and Buffer Pool Analyzer gathers batch job information. Intermittent message BPL276E when an IMS batch job starts while BPLTRACE is waiting for job start. Incorrect ABEND code and DBD name in message BPL205E. IMS control region trace receives message BLP205E if IMSDALIB is used for DFSMDA Dynamic Allocation modules.
Problem conclusion
Gather batch job information before GTF trace initialization completes. If the trace process abends and the DLI/Batch job being monitored has ended, do not abend or produce a dump. Instead, write an error message to the SYSLOG indicating the nature of the problem. The BPL276E message may occur during IMS batch job initialization. Code has been changed to wait for the batch SCD to be built instead of ending the BPLTRACE process. Correct information in message BPL205E. Correct S306-0C ABENDs when DFSMDA modules are loaded from unauthorized libraries providing support for IMSDALIB.
