Error description

• HPIC terminates ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) if the first Secondary
  Index and the same data set of shared secondary index are
  specified as INPUT data set.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR fixes following problems of   *
  *                      IMS High Performance Image Copy for     *
  *                      z/OS Version 3 Release 1:               *
  *                      1. When the more than one data set      *
  *                         within a Shared Secondary Index      *
  *                         as input data set of AIC or ACIC,    *
  *                         FABJMAIN terminates with ABEND       *
  *                         S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ).                   *
  *                      2. When the IC function gets OPEN       *
  *                         fail for input DB or output IC,      *
  *                         HPIC calls HDPC HASH termination     *
  *                         and HPPC module terminates with      *
  *                         ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ).             *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
  ****************************************************************
  This APAR provides following fixes for IMS High Performance
  Image Copy for z/OS Version 3 Release 1:
  
  1. When DBDs  within a shared secondary index is specified as
     input DB for parallel process of IC, HPIC terminates with
     ABEND S0C4 ( ABENDS0C4 ). The cause of abend is handling
     shared VSAM data sets between more than one subtasks.
  
  2. When HPIC IC function fails to open input DB or IC data
     set, HPIC calles HDPC hash termination call and fails
     ABEND S0C4 ( ABENDS0C4 ). HPIC should bypass HPPC call
     if the input or output data set is open fail. Because
     any IC process or HASH is not processed in this situation.
  

Problem conclusion

• FABJDMPN has been modified to specified share the subpool 0
  for sharing VSAM data set between HPIC subtasks.
  
  FASBJDMP7, FABJDMP8, and FABJDMP9 have been reassembled.
  
  FABJDPSN has been modified not to CALL hppc termination call
  when the HPIC IC process is not done for the DBDS.
  
  FASBJDPS7, FABJDPS8, and FABJDPS9 have been reassembled.

  When you run IC process for shared secondary index data set,
  we recommend to use VIC=Y or HDPC=O for other than first DBD
  within a shared secondary index. IC data set for first DBD
  of shared secondary index can be used for the recovery, but
  others are not used for recovery. If the  VIC=Y or HPPC=O
  for the secondary index, the IC data set is not created but
  the data can be evaluated by HPPC Hash Check.
