* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Customer experienced occasional IB hard *
*                      wait at prime production time.          *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF      *

Sort address space wait for index record data buffer queue could
potentionally start after the main IB address space posted a
queue. Since the ECB was zeroed before the wait, the queue would
be never processed.

Problem conclusion

  • The sort processing module was fixed to zero the ECB after the
wait. A check was added to avoid wait if already posted.
