PQ73756: WHEN INSERT RECEIVES AIB STATUS 0900, THE JOB ENDS WITH CC=00 AND THE AIB STATUS GOES UNDETECTED

Error description

• When IQCINSRT receives AIB RETURN 0900 REASON 0000 TPCBSTAT
  A3: the status code goes undetected and the job ends with rc=00.
  It is suggested that a warning message (rc=04) is issued when
  a non-zero return code from IMS is returned to QCF.

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: All users, running batch jobs to select      *
  *                 and insert messages on the queue.            *
  *                 -When INSERT receives AIB RETCODE =0900,     *
  *                 the step ends with CC=0                      *
  *                 and the AIB retcode goes undetected.         *
  *                 -Detailed SELECT report is not printed       *
  *                 in some cases - only statistics are          *
  *                 printed.                                     *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: It is normal for some messages not      *
  *                      to be inserted on the queue for         *
  *                      reasons like not defined destinations   *
  *                      and etc. IMS returns retcode=x'00F0'    *
  *                      and the reason code for rejecting the   *
  *                      message.                                *
  *                      It is NOT normal to receive retcode     *
  *                      different from x'00F0' back from IMS.   *
  *                      The step's return code RC=00 lets       *
  *                      this situation go undetected.           *
  *                      In some cases the detailed SELECT repor *
  *                      (report by destinations) is not printed *

  * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF      *
  ****************************************************************
  -IQCINSRT step ends with RC=04 if IMS return code is different
  from x'00f0'.
  -IQCSELCT detailed report is printed for all destination types.
  

Problem conclusion

• Programs are changed:
  -IQCSELECT step ends with RC=04 in all cases IMS return code is
  not X'00f0'
  -IQCSELCT prints all reports for all destination selected.
