PQ00997: ERROR MESSAGE 'DEVICE INET.SYS NOT FOUND IN CONFIG.SYS FILE' ISSUED WHEN RUNNING WARP WITH OS/TCPIP REL2 (NON WARP CONNECT)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Error 8:  Device INET.SYS not found in CONFIG.SYS file message
  is issued when customer is running OFFSETUP.CMD with WARP and
  OS/2 TCPIP rel2.

  *                      levels of OS/2 and TCP/IP for OS/2      *
  *                      OFFSETUP.CMD can fail to find the       *
  *                      TCP/IP INET driver in CONFIG.SYS.       *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  OFFSETUP.CMD was unable to find a level of TCP/IP that was
  different from the level of OS/2.
  

Problem conclusion

• OFFSETUP.CMD has been changed to allow for differing levels of
  software. AFINET.SYS or INET.SYS will be found based on the
  level of TCP/IP running in the Offload machine.
