PM98315: PITR RECOVERY INTO AN ACTIVE OLR MAY BE INCORRECT IF USING START TIME OF THE OLR

Error description

• DRF to support new IMS log record type 'x2931' for PITR recovery
  into an active OLR when the target dataset information is not
  available.

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: Users running recovery into an active HALDB  *
  *                 OLR. There is a unrecoverable window between *
  *                 the OLR start time and the Target ALLOC time *
  *                 which is addressed by this APAR.             *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR implements support for a new  *
  *                      IMS Log Record TYPE2931, which is       *
  *                      exactly the same as TYPE2930 record,    *
  *                      but is written earlier in the OLR       *
  *                      process. If present the TYPE2931 record *
  *                      will be used for target dataset         *
  *                      allocation instead of TYPE2930 Record.  *
  *                      This closes the unrecoverable window at *
  *                      OLR start time.                         *

  * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF      *
  ****************************************************************
  Support for new IMS Log record TYPE2931 to eliminate an
  unrecoverable window close to the start of a HALDB Online Reorg.

• Support for a new IMS Log Record TYPE2931 has been implemented
  to close an unrecoverable window at the start of an OLR when
  doing PITR recovery into an active Haldb Online Reorg.
