Error description
When positioning in a log file using the IMS PI Time-of-Day function, two passes may be required, the first pass going to End-of-File before correctly locating the required record/position in the file. IMS PI uses internal indexes to facilitate its record retrieval and processing, when using the Time-of-Day navigate function it may request a record beyond EOF in which case IMS PI will position itself at the last record in the file. A subsequent Time-of-Day function correctly positions to the required time in the file.

A subsequent Time-of-Day function correctly positions to the required time in the file.
Problem conclusion
If EOF is recorded during the Navigate function check and the record requested was beyond the last record in the file, reprocess the request using the last physical record number to ensure the final index blocks are checked for the required record/position.
