APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ABEND878 or elongated elapsed time can occur when there are
  several sorts running with large differences in record lengths
  or file sizes.
  
  The problem is related to storage allocation and usage.
  
  This APAR also fixes an ABEND878 that can occur because of
  conflicting usage of the same flag by APARs PM86040 and PM97410.
