PM94295: POSSIBLE ABEND=S04F REASON=00F70407 WHEN THERE ARE DELETED MEMBERS IN THE SOURCE DB2 BSDS

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • It is possible for the start up of a target DB2 member to get
ABEND=S04F REASON=00F70407 when there are deleted members in the
source DB2 system BSDS.

Local fix

  • After DB2UPDATE has been run for all the target members manually
edit all the target member BSDSes and update one record in each
BSDS.

The record that needs to be updated has a key value of
x 1F000000 .
This value in the first 4 bytes of the record.
This record also has an eye catcher value in it of 'MARY'.
This record has a list of the member names that are in the data
sharing group.
Update this record to change any occurrence of a source member
name to its corresponding target member name.

 Before starting the target DB2 systems run the Cloning Tool
XCFCLEAN command.

The XCFCLEAN command will remove all data from the target data
sharing group coupling facility structures.
