Error description
When running a FP sensor job, dynamic allocation failed for HFPSxxxx DDs with the HFPD3023E message and abended with U3023. Additional symptom addressed: DB Sensor/FPA Analyze abend with B37-04 for HFPIxxxx DDs when HFPSxxxx DDs are specified in their JCLs. ABENDB37

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of HPFPU Fast Path Advanced Tool, * * Fast Path Online Tools and DB Sensor in Fast * * Path Solution Pack Version 1 Release 2 * * (FMID: HAHQ120). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. DB Sensor/FPA Analyze abended with * * U3023 against the large DEDB due to * * dynamic allocation failure for * * HFPSxxxx work data sets. * * 2. OPC and OER with pointer checking * * terminated rc=08 against the large DEDB * * due to dynamic allocation failure for * * DAR13SO work data sets. * * 3. DB Sensor/FPA Analyze abended with * * B37-04 for HFPIxxxx DDs when HFPSxxxx * * DDs were specified in a JCL. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** 1. When both the maximum and minimum length of the segments were small and the DEDB area was big, DB Sensor and FPA Analyze calculated the primary quantity for HFPSxxxx work data sets and determined 3.8G. When they tried to allocate work data sets dynamically, the request failed. 2. When both the maximum and minimum length of the segments were small and the DEDB area was big, OPC and OER with pointer checking calculated the primary quantity for DAR13SO work data set and determined 3.8G. When they tried to allocate work data sets dynamically, the request failed. 3. DB Sensor/FPA Analyze determined HFPIxxxx DDs space attribute on basis of HFPSxxxx DDs. When HFPSxxxx DDs were specified on the JCL, the model value was not calculated. Therefore HFPIxxxx DDs were allocated with small size dynamically and abended with B37.
Problem conclusion
1. DB Sensor and FPA Analyze are modified to adjust the primary and secondary quantities when the calculated primary quantity is greater than 1G. 2. OPC and OER with pointer checking are modified to adjust the primary and secondary quantities when the calculated primary quantity is greater than 1G. 3. HFPIxxxx DDs space attribute is determined not to depend on the HFPSxxxx DDs.
