Error description
A U3301 occurs running FPA when trying to increase the size of an area. Also the following error message is received: HFPT3301E ERROR IN CALL TO RANDOMIZER: KDB486S0, IN AREA NO: 3, AREANAME: DAFE00 HFPT3301E - RETURN CODE: 7 FPA is not properly setting the DMACDMCB in the DMAC that the randomizer refers to, causing the abend and MSGHFPT3301E. The DMACDMCB is being set to x'00000000' therefore the DMCB cannot be accessed. This causes the randomizer to get the RC=07 which leads to the abend. Keywords: return code 7 DBDNAME zeros

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of HPFPU Fast Path Advance Tools * * and Fast Path Online Tools in Fast Path * * Solution Pack Version 1 Release 2 * * (FMID: HAHQ120). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. A U3301 occurs running FPA when * * trying to increase the size of an area. * * 2. SDEP TOT #OCCS in FPA Analyze * * SEGMENT PLACEMENT ANALYSIS report * * includes SDEP deleted segments. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** 1. When trying to increase the size of an area, the randomizer is called. The randomizer traces the pointers to refer DMCBNAME in DMCB from MRMB address set in the parameter list. Because DMACDMCB address in DMAC is null, the randomizer can't access to DMCB and returns non-zero rc. 2. TOT #OCCS for SDEP segments in DEDB AREA ANALYSYS, SEGMENT PLACEMENT ANALYSIS report includes SDEP deleted segments counts.
Problem conclusion
1. FPA sets the DMCB address to DMACDMCB in DMAC. 2. FPA Analyze and FPO OPC with FULLSTEP=YES show SDEP segment counts in the SEGMENT PLACEMENT ANALYSIS section in DEDB AREA Analysis report. The SDEP segments count should be shown for only SDEP valid segments by subtracting SDEP deleted segment counts.
