APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • memory leak of string ' CCVT ' when using jcehybrid provider.

Local fix

  • use IBMJCECCA provider instead, if possible

Problem summary

  • The EBCDIC string "CCVT" is leaked each time the method
Java_com_ibm_crypto_ibmjcehybrid_provider_CCVTStatus_SetupCardIn
formation is called inside the z/OS Java Hybid Provider
(IBMJCEHYBRID).  On systems where the IBMJCEHYBRID provider is
installed the leak may result in native memory problems.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
7.0.0 SR5 (z/OS 31 and 64 bit)

The 4 bytes of memory are no longer dynamically allocated.  The
memory leak will no longer occur.
