Problem summary

•   USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Object Comparison Tool
                    for z/OS who run compare and the objects
                    being compared include a dangling Alias on
                    the target.
  
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS
                         issues a compare error when comparing
                         source from a DDL file to target from
                         the DB2 catalog and the objects are
                         automatically selected based on the
                         selected source objects.  The source
                         DDL contains a table or view with an
                         Alias defined on it, while in the
                         DB2 catalog, only the alias with the
                         same name as the source exists, the
                         table or view that the alias
                         depends on has been dropped already.
                         The following error message is
                         displayed:
  
                         Error: Some objects have duplicate
                         names after masking or other name
                         change:

                         also found as Another Alias
  
    RECOMMENDATION:
  
  DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS issues a compare error
  when comparing source from a DDL file to target from the DB2
  catalog and the objects are automatically selected based on the
  selected source objects. The source DDL contains a table or
  view with an Alias defined on it, while in the DB2 catalog,
  only the alias with the same name as the source exists, the
  table or view that the alias depends on has been dropped
  already. The following error message is displayed:
