APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
Abstract: Attempts to generate a data bean from a COBOL copy book that contains an underscore character '_' in the data-name results in the error: 'IGYDS0027-S Non-COBOL character(s) were found starting with '_' in column 23. The characters were discarded.' Problem: If the COBOL copy book uses an underscore character '_' in the data name , the COBOL importer will flag the following syntax error: 'IGYDS0027-S Non-COBOL character(s) were found starting with '_' in column 23. The characters were discarded.' The COBOL importer does not accept the underscore character '_' as a legal character for data name. The underscore character '_' is now supported in user-defined words such as data-names and program-names. Underscores are also supported in the literal form of program names. The COBOL importer needs to be updated to support the underscore character. Refer to Enterprise COBOL v4r2 documentation: http://publibfp.dhe.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/igy3lr50.pdf Local fix: Replace the underscore character '_' with '-' in the data-names.
