Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS''Alter Table ALT' function
does not process the TRIGGER objects when processing a change
to extend the column and there are one or more TRIGGER's
referencing the column on DB2 9 in any mode.

Problem summary


    

  •   USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool or
                  DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS who
                  use DB2 R810 or DB2 9 only, and alter
                  the length of table columns that are
                  referenced by triggers defined on the
                  table.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When altering the length of table
                       columns that are referenced by
                       triggers defined on the table on
                       DB2 R810 or DB2 9 only, the table
                       containing the column will be dropped
                       and recreated with the new column
                       length, which is not necessary.

  RECOMMENDATION:

When altering the length of table columns that are referenced
by triggers defined on the table on DB2 R810 or DB2 9 only, the
correct process should be ALTER TABLE by dropping the triggers
first and recreating them after the columns are altered.
