Error description
Having a SORT statement as in: SORT SORT-FILE .... GIVING XYZ-FILE with XYZ-FILE defined with a USING as in: SELECT XYZ-FILE ASSIGN USING FILE-PATH-SPEC ORGANIZATION IS LINE SEQUENTIAL FILE STATUS IS XYZ-STATUS. Fails with the following when FILE-PATH-SPEC is defined as: 03 FILE-PATH-SPEC PIC X(256) VALUE SPACES. The following error is received during SORT <Thread 1> Signal received: SIGSEGV - Segmentation violation <Thread 1> <Thread 1> Traceback: <Thread 1> Location 0x00000000
Local fix
Having FILE-PATH-SPEC the same size as the name of the file moved into the field bypasses the problem.
Problem summary
There should be no SIGSEGV using SORT.
