Error description
If a user attempts to use Occurrences in compilation unit action for a PL/I declared structure, StringIndexOutofBounds exception occurs. Here is an example: DCL 1 MSERROR, %INCLUDE IMSGERR; The occurrences on mserror portion of mserror.RETCD mserror.RETCD = ' '; mserror.RETINDX = ''; causes StringIndexOutofBounds exception.
Local fix
Problem summary
Selecting a PL/I structure name for occurrences caused a StringIndexOutOfBounds because the text returned was unexpected.
Problem conclusion
The text returned now contais the name of the variable selected, which can be placed in the view. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1 Refresh Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
