Error description

  • When IMS Catalog Populate utility (DFS3PU00) with IMS APAR
PM62879 uses ACBCATWK dataset made by Advanced ACBGEN, it
terminates with DFS4494E xx IS A BACK-LEVEL ACBLIB MEMBER and
return code 12. The specification about ACBCATWK dataset was
changed by IMS APAR PM62879, and Advanced ACBGEN does not
support this yet. This causes the problem.

    ****************************************************************
The specification of ACBCATWK DD was changed by IMS APAR
PM62879 but Advanced ACBGEN does not support the new
specification yet. This causes the problem that IMS Catalog
Populate utility (DFS3PU00) issues MSGDFS4494E message and ends
with the return code of RC12. The problem occurs when the
    following conditions are met:

    - IMS APAR PM62879 is applied.

    - ACBCATWK dataset written by Advanced ACBGEN utility is
specified when running IMS Catalog Populate utility.
       or
ACBCATWK DD is specified when running ACB Generation and
Catalog Populate utility (DFS3UACB) using Advanced ACBGEN.

By this APAR, Advanced ACBGEN utility modified to support the
new specification of ACBCATWK DD. Advanced ACBGEN opens ACBCATWK
with a lager LRECL same as IMS ACBGEN PM62879 is applied does
and the records written to the ACBCATWK dataset is same as IMS
    ACBGEN PM62879 is applied does.
New ACBCATWK DD statement should be specified when Advanced
ACBGEN utility with this APAR is used. Please refer IMS APAR
PM62879 for the new ACBCATWK DD statement.

If Advanced ACBGEN utility with this APAR runs and old ACBCATWK
DD statement is specified, ABEND013 with RSN0020 occurs by
ACBCATWK DD open error. So apply IMS APAR PM62879 and use new
ACBCATWK DD statement when this APAR is applied.
