Error description

  • REORG DBD(NNASEQDB) ICEIN(ICEIN) VOLALLO(1,1140,1140) this is a
single volume allocation prim=1140, sec=1140 cyls.
This parameter should only apply to the OSAM or VSAM
Primary/Secondary allocation of the A dataset - Not the x
dataset. The X datasets do not need to be allocated as large as
the A datasets. Here is part of the JOBLOG:
    HRF01000I ALLOCATE -
    HRF01000I DATASET('DBCT.IMS.NNASEQDB.S.A00001') -

    intended.

HRF01000I CYLINDERS(1140,1140) - this is way over allocated for
an X dataset. VOLALLO should not override the original
    allocation.

    ****************************************************************
When VOLALLO parameter is specified, the space allocation is
overridden not only for the database datasets but also for the
    index datasets.

Problem conclusion

  • When reorganizing a database with VOLALLO parameter specified,
ORF will not override the space allocation of index datasets.
Only the allocation of database datasets will be overridden.
