PM63469: ORF ALLOCATION PROBLEMS WHEN VOLALLO IS USED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• We tried to use the VOLALLO parm to override the space
  allocation when creating the database data sets, however, the
  ALTER command failed for VSAM.
  The VSAM allocation uses the VOLUMES parameter. For some reason,
  when VOLALLO was used, it issued an ALTER ADDVOL to all
  datasets including VSAM.

  When VOLALLO parameter is specified, ORF possibly generates
  ALTER ADDVOLUMES statements against non-VSAM data sets and it
  causes IDCAMS to fail. The job fails with U0999 abend along with
  HRF01560E IDCAMS FAILED message.
  

Problem conclusion

• This APAR fixes the program error that generates inappropriate
  IDCAMS statements.
