PM62964: UPDATE TO THE USE OF THE NETHERLANDS ANTILLEAN GUILDER CURRENCY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The country code "AN" standing for Netherlands Antilles has been
  replaced by Curacao (CW), Sint Maarten, Dutch Part (SX) and
  Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba (BQ) which have been introduced
  on 15 January 2011.
  This country code deletion has been announced in Broadcast
  S06555 sent on Friday 23 March 2012.
  The changed use of the Netherlands Antillean Guilder currency is
  missing in the MERVA currency code table.

  As per ISO 4217 Amendment number 150, Bonaire, St. Eustatius
  and Saba have adopted the US Dollar (USD) as their legal tender
  since January 1, 2011.
  Curacao and St. Maarten (Dutch part) will adopt a new common
  currency: the Caribbean Guilder.
  The new currency is scheduled to be introduced in 2012.
  Until the date of introduction, the Netherlands Antillean
  Guilder (ANG) will remain legal tender in Curacao and
  St. Maarten.
  

Problem conclusion

• The changed use of ANG and USD is missing in the
  MERVA currency code table.
  This has been corrected.
