Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool for * * z/OS who issue the 'K - Show packages * * on table' line command on a Java stored * * procedure on panel ADB21O 'Stored * * Procedures to find its associated DB2 * * packages. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS, * * when issuing the 'K - Show packages * * on table' line command on a Java * * stored procedure on panel ADB21O * * 'Stored Procedures', an error message * * 'No rows returned' is issued, even * * when there are one or more packages * * in the catalog tables for the stored * * procedure. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS, when issuing the 'K - Show packages on table' line command on a Java stored procedure on panel ADB21O 'Stored Procedures' to find its associated DB2 packages, a package is not found even when there are one or more packages in the catalog tables for the stored procedure. There is no relationship in the DB2 catalog that would allow an SQL statement to locate the package.
Problem conclusion
DB2 Administration Tool has been changed to provide an enhanced query to locate the packages for a Java stored procedure when no package is found based on the default algorithm. To use the enhanced query, set the option 'Query Java SP package' on panel ADB2P2 'Change DB2 Admin defaults' to 'E'. With the enhanced query enabled, DB2 Administration Tool will locate the package with the following enhancement: If no packages are found, the DB2 Administration Tool attempts to locate packages by using the COLLID value and CLASS value of the stored procedure. If the CLASS is embedded in the REMARKS column of a package, DB2 Administration Tool associates the package with the stored procedure, provided that one of the following conditions is true: The COLLID value of the package is equal to the COLLID value of the stored procedure. The COLLID value of the package is NULLID if the COLLID value of the stored procedure is blank.
