PM52234: ORF TIMEOUT WAITING FOR PARTITION CLOSE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• At the end of the COPY phase, ORF received acknowledgement
  of 9 out of 10 partitions being closed. The close for the 10th
  partition took over two minutes, way past the timeout for ORF.
  As a result of shutting down, the symptoms may vary, in this
  case an ABEND002. It appears that excessive IMS activity from
  ORF may have caused the delay for the last CLOSE.

  Too many /CHE calls from ORF. While the final abend was
  different, ORF timed out verifying the close of the last
  partition. There was additional traffic to the log due to
  application abends.
  

Problem conclusion

• The amount of traffic to the log will be reduced.
  The number of /CHE commands is reduced.
