PM50673: ADBTEP2 AUTO REBIND SYNTAX RESULTS IN DSNE964E DSNECP55 FOR PACKAGE KEYWORD PARAMETER ( SPACES BETWEEN NAMES )

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS created invalid REBIND
  syntax when processing packages bound in a prior release.
  For example:
  REBIND PACKAGE(AAAAAAA .AAAAAA .(2006-05-12-02.09.48.128-472))
  - note the blank space before the periods
  which resulted in the error message:
  DSNECP55 INVALID SYNTAX FOR PACKAGE KEYWORD PARAMETER

  ADB5121E Command failed:REBIND PACKAGE(schema          .
           pkgname).................
  ADB5185E The run is ending due to errors.

• Manually edit the syntax to remove the spaces
  

Problem summary

  *                 who use AUTO REBIND in Work Statement        *
  *                 Lists (WSL) and have packages that were      *
  *                 bound prior to DB2 R810.                     *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After migration the collection ID in    *
  *                      the SYSPACKAGES DB2 Catalog table,      *
  *                      if it was bound prior to DB2 R810 was   *
  *                      padded with blanks. These blanks are    *
  *                      then added to the REBIND PACKAGE        *
  *                      statement. The errors produced will be  *
  *                      a DSNE964E error stating:               *
  *                                                              *
  *                      DSNE964E DSNECP55 INVALID SYNTAX FOR    *
  *                      PACKAGE KEYWORD PARAMETER               *
  *                      <package_name>                          *
  *                                                              *
  *                      followed by                             *
  *                                                              *
  *                      ADB5121E Command Failed REBIND          *
  *                      PACKAGE package_name                    *
  *                                                              *
  *                      and then terminates the WSL.            *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  The collection ID from the DB2 catalog table has leading and
  trailing blanks removed prior to building the REBIND PACKAGE
  statement.
