Error description

  • Several dataset attributes are now checked to determine if they
are compatible between the source and target subsystems. These
include EXTENDED FORMAT, EXTENDED ADDRESSABILITY, COMPRESSABLE,
STRIPED and SPANNED. These are incompatible attributes per
message ADR439E RC=4. When MAX-RC=0 and one or more
incompatibilities are found, the source job ends with RC=8. When
MAX-RC(4) a warning message is output for each dataset and
    processing continues.

A new COPY subcommand, CHECK-DATASET-COMPATIBILITY(Y/N) is used
to turn this check on and off. The short form is CKDSN.

IDCAMS LISTCAT commands are issued for each dataset pair (source
and target). IDCAMS commands and responses are output to the LOG
    dataset.

Use PGM(NONE) to check dataset compatibility. Correct the
datasets found to be incompatible and then use PGM(ADRDSSU) to
    make the copies.

Note that if no target object exists, the check is bypassed for
    that dataset pair.

Local fix

  • Correct ADR439E incompatible dataset attributes issued during
    the copy.
