Error description

  • A FTP client is connected to the FTP server doing repeated
commands using JESINTERFACELEVEL 2. Each time the client
submits a LIST or NSLT command which does not find any JES jobs
available for the specified JESJOBNAME, JESSTATUS and JESOWNER,
a STATMEM call is not issued. This causes a 64K STATSTOR
control block to be leaked in Subpool 230 Key 1. If enough NLST
or LIST commands are done, the FTP server address space will
eventually run out of storage. An 878 abend or a 40D abend will
    be seen.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When FILETYPE is set to JES on the FTP server and repeated DIR
or LS subcommands are processed but no jobs are found, then
storage is not freed correctly. Each time the FTP client
issues a DIR or LS subcommand which does not find any JES jobs
available for the specified JESJOBNAME, JESSTATUS and JESOWNER,
a STATMEM call is not issued. This causes a 64K STATSTOR
control block not to be freed in Subpool 230 Key 1. If enough
NLST or LIST commands are done, the FTP server address space
will eventually run out of storage. An abend 878 or 40D will
    be seen.
