APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS users of the BR line
command experience ABENDS0C4 or ABENDU4088 in program ADBMAIN.
This APAR is the Version 7.2 version of Version 10.1's APAR
PM44400.

Local fix

  • Set the Language Environment option TRAP() to TRAP(ON) as
recommended by IBM.

*                 z/OS who use the Browse (BR) command.        *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An ABENDS0C4 or ABENDU4088 is observed  *
*                      when executing the Browse (BR) command. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
An ABENDS0C4 or ABENDU4088 can occur when Language environment
(LE) run time option TRAP(OFF) is in effect.

Problem conclusion

  • Problem has been fixed by setting TRAP(ON) in ADB2UOPT. TRAP(ON)
is the IBM recommended default.
