Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM Session Manager. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a SHAREDISC or SHARESESS user has *
    * invalid ACBs specified for a session *
    * then the session will loop at start *
    * time when started by a secondary user. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When a SHAREDISC or SHARESESS user has invalid ACBs specified
for a session then the session will loop at start time when
started by a secondary user. The ACB is defined as USERDATA1
data and is implemented via an INITSCRIPT at session start-up.

Problem conclusion

  • When a secondary user signs on it assumes that as the session is
not started by the primary that it should start it. However it
was started by the primary user but failed to start. Product
amended to recognize this condition and not start the session on
the secondary user if it has already failed on the primary user.
