PM48343: MSGFPX0102E OCCURS RUNNING AN OAE JOB AFTER A PRIOR OAE JOB FAILS OR ENDS IN ERROR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Error message FPX0102E occurs running an Online Area Extender
  (OAE) after a prior OAE job fails or ends in error (or abends).
  This has to do with an internal flag not being reset before
  the second run.
  The error message received is:
    FPX0102E Online Change for ACBLIB to install the new ACB must
    be performed before OAE may be re-executed.
  

Local fix

• A work around is to run any of the FPO tools (OPC, ODM, ODE) to
  reset the internal flag, before trying the second job again.

  Online Area Extender (OAE) with shadow expansion issues
  the following FPX0102E message when the OAE job runs
  after a prior OAE job fails or runs with test mode.
    FPX0102E Online Change for ACBLIB to install the new ACB
    must be performed before OAE may be re-executed.
  

Problem conclusion

• OAE did not reset an internal OAE run flag after an OAE job
  failed or ran with test mode.
  So OAE misunderstood "OAE completed IOVF expansion before"
  by judging the flag at the follow-on OAE job, and issued
  FPX0102E message.
  Because the user can perform OAE jobs continuously without the
  online change after the OAE job, the checking logic is removed.
