Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS DEDB FAST RECOVERY Version 2 * * Release 2 (FMID=H1J2220) users who use the * * extended format IMS log data sets in IMS * * V12. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFR in IMS V12 issues a MSGDFR3100E * * message and ends with an abend code * * U3100 when DFR tries to close extended * * format OLDS after a CEC failure. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** If IMS is ended by a CEC failure, an EOD marker is not written to the opening extended format OLDS. Since DFR cannot correctly read the log records that are written to the extended format OLDS by IMS, DFR issues a MSGDFR3100E message and ends with an abend code U3100 when DFR tries to close the extended format OLDS. This is because DFR does not have a PASTEOD=YES flag on DCBE for the extended format OLDS.
Problem conclusion
The following macro and module have been modified. * DFRRLGTC - A PASTEOD=YES keyword was added to the DCBEs for the OLDSs. DFRRSCDC - It was reconstructed by change of a DFRRLGTC macro. * ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== IMS DEDB Fast Recovery for z/OS Version 2 Release 2 User's Guide and Reference (Document Number: SC27-0928-04) should be changed as follows. ================================================================ 8.0 Troubleshooting 8.4 Messages .
