The IBM IMS Database Reorganization Expert for z/OS User's Guide
    Version 4 Release 1 Suffix 1 (SC19-1137-01)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    > 3.1.1 Smart Reorg overview
A new runtime mode, Reorganization and Diagnosis mode, is added:

    |Reorganization and Diagnosis mode
    | When you run the Smart Reorg utility in this mode, the Smart
    |Reorg Driver invokes the Parallel Reorganization Service to
    |reorganize the database and the Conditional Reorganization
    |Support Service. The Conditional Reorganization Support Service
    |evaluates the reorganized database and reports the processing
    |results and the status of the database before and after
    |reorganization. Although the Conditional Reorganization Support
    |Service is invoked, the database is reorganized every time
    |a job is run in this mode. Use Reorganization and Diagnosis
    |mode when you want to reorganize the database and want
    |to know the database status before and after reorganization.

    > 3.5.2.2.2 CONDREORG control statement
This topic is updated as follows:

Specifies whether to use the Conditional Reorganization Support
Service (CRSS). This control statement is optional. If you do
not specify this control statement, CONDREORG=NO is used.

       | |
       | _NO_________________ |
       | >>__CONDREORG=__|_YES__ ___________ _|__>< |
       | |_,DIAGONLY__| |
      ||                        |_,REORGDIAG_|      |
       |____________________________________________|
    NO
The CRSS is not used. The job runs in Unconditional
Reorganization mode, which means that the database is
    reorganized without being diagnosed.
    YES
The CRSS is used. The job runs in Conditional Reorganization
mode if no suboption is specified. The Smart Reorg Driver
calls the CRSS to evaluate the database or the partition based
on the specified reorganization policy. When the CRSS
determines that the database reorganization is necessary,
the Smart Reorg Driver calls the Parallel Reorganization
Service to run the reorganization task.
You can specify the following suboptions for CONDREORG=YES:
    DIAGONLY
The CRSS is used. The job runs in Diagnosis-only mode.
In this mode, the CRSS is called by the Smart Reorg Driver to
evaluate the database based on the specified reorganization
policy and to generate a Diagnosis report.
    |REORGDIAG
    | The CRSS is used. The job runs in Reorganization and
    |Diagnosis mode. In this mode, the database is diagnosed and
    |reorganized regardless of the results from policy evaluation.
    |The Smart Reorg Driver calls the CRSS to evaluate the database
    |or partition based on the specified reorganization policy
    |before and after reorganization, and generates a Diagnosis
    |report after the reorganization is committed.
Conditional reorganization processing can be controlled by
the control statements in the CONDREORG block.
    Notes:
    |1. When you specify CONDREORG=YES, CONDREORG=YES,REORGDIAG, or
    |CONDREORG=YES,DIAGONLY, you must specify a valid IMS Tools
    |KB server name on the ITKBSRVR control statement.
    |2. If you specify CONDREORG=YES,REORGDIAG or
    |CONDREORG=YES,DIAGONLY for the Installation Default Option
    |Table and CONDREORG=YES on the REORG block of the JCL,
    |CONDREORG=YES (without suboption) is in effect.

    > 8.2.3.3 HPSG Messages
The following new message is added:

    |HPSG2321I DATABASE dbdname IS REORGANIZED BECAUSE REORG AND
    |DIAGNOSIS MODE IS SELECTED
    |Explanation: CONDREORG=YES,REORGDIAG was specified in the
    |REORG block so the job is run in Reorganization and Diagnosis
    |mode. The indicated database is reorganized regardless of its
    |status.
    |System Action: The Smart Reorg utility continues
    |processing.
    |User Response: None.
