Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS Version 7.2.0 GEN function
creates incorrectly qualified column names for a CREATE VIEW
statement when the "Run SQLID" option is used.
Executing the SQL results in a SQLCODE -206 / SQLCODEN206.

Local fix

  • Do not use the "Run SQLID" option on panel ADB2GEN "Generate SQL
from DB2 catalog".

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using the GEN function to generate *
*                      DDL for a view and the 'Run SQLID'      *
*                      option is specified, executing the      *
*                      generated CREATE VIEW statement         *
*                      results in a SQLCODE=-206 / SQLCODEN206 *
*                      because several column names are        *
*                      incorrectly qualified .                 *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

When using GEN function to generate the DDL for a view with the
'Run SQLID' option specified on panel ADB2GEN, column names in
the "ORDER BY" clause are qualified and causes an SQLCODE=-206/
SQLCODEN206.
