Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Object Comparison Tool for *
    * z/OS who increase the number of parts in a *
    * table space and compare the table space *
    *                 without dependent objects.                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DB2 Object Comparison Tool assumed *
    * that a table is always present in the *
    * DDL if its table space has the number *
    * of parts increased and failed with an *
    *                      ONCODE8094 / ONCODE=8094 because the    *
    *                      pointer to a stored table's DDL was     *
    *                      Null().                                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The DB2 Object Comparison Tool assumed that a table is always
    present in the DDL if its table space has the number of parts
    increased and failed with an ONCODE 8094 / ONCODE=8094 because
    the pointer to a stored table's DDL was Null().

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been resolved. If the table definition is
    missing, a warning message will be generated:

    (W) Any table definition for the tablespace is missing,
        therefore the table will not be recreated and all rows
        in the table will be lost.

    The above-mentioned warning message will be amended to:

    (W) The table definition for the tablespace is missing,
        therefore the table will not be recreated and all rows
        in the table will be lost.
