PM35175: IBM0421S ONCODE=520 THE SUBSCRIPTRANGE CONDITION WAS RAISED. FROM ENTRY POINT POPULATE_CONV_CONTROLS U4038 U4039 IF HPU USED

APAR status

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS program APPLY jobs fail
  in step CONVnnnn with a:
  IBM0421S  ONCODE=520  The SUBSCRIPTRANGE condition was raised.
  From entry point POPULATE_CONV_CONTROLS at statement 7117
  when High Performance Unload ( HPU ) is used as the "Unload
  Method" on the DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS' panel GOC5
  "Generate Compare Jobs".
  The reported problem will happen when the following two
  conditions are both true:
  1. There is a column being deleted from the original table(s)
  during APPLY. This applies to both OC path and ALT path.
  2. HPU is used as the UNLOAD method.
  

Local fix

• Use the "U - Unload" or "P - Parallel unload" option for the
  "Unload method" field on panel GOC5 "Generate Compare Jobs".
  In the scenario in which comparing target
  with source, no columns in target tables are being deleted
  during APPLY, then use HPU so not to see the reported
  error.
