Error description
After migrating Deployment Manager from 6.0.2.41 to 7.0.0.12, the following error is seen in the Servant joblog: Trace: 2011/02/08 23:31:44.176 01 t=8EBB70 c=UNK key=P8 (13007002) ThreadId: 00000000 FunctionName: com.ibm.ws.runtime.component.DeployedApplicationImpl SourceId: com.ibm.ws.runtime.component.DeployedApplicationImpl Category: SEVERE ExtendedMessage: BBOO0220E: WSVR0100W: An error occurred initializing, filetransferSecured java.io.FileNotFoundException: /usr/xxx/xxx/configs/WebSphereV7T04/DeploymentManager/syste mApps/filetransferSecured.ear/deployment.xml (EDC5129I No such file or directory. (errno2=0x05620062)) During migration the system application filetransferSecured was migrated successfully, but the entry in the systemapps.xml file was not removed, so at startup, the runtime is trying to start the application and fails with this error.
Local fix
Remove the entry for filetransferSecured from the systemapps.xml file
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 migrating a Deployment * * Manager on z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Joblog indicates the deployment.xml * * file for the filetransferSecured app * * is missing when a migrated V7 Dmgr is * * first started. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The filetransferSecured system app was changed for V7 on zOS. An entry is no longer required in the systemapps.xml file. When migrating from an older release, this entry is being brought forward into release v7, which no longer registers this system application in this manner. Therefore when started, the server looks for the deployment.xml in the old directory - $WAS_HOME/systemapps/filetransferSecured.ear.
Problem conclusion
The migration code has been updated to exclude the copying of the filetransferSecured.ear entry forward into the systemapps.xml for WebSphere Application Server V7.0 and beyond. This is targeted only for the z/OS platform. APAR PM34662 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.19 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0 and 8.0.0.1 for of WebSphere Application Server V8.0.
