Error description
Problem Statement: The link by attribute does not link objects if the target object is not shown in the default view of the target module. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create two modules, source and target. 2. Create a text attribute in the source module whose values are the absolute numbers of objects in target module. 3. For example, if you have added first 5 absolute numbers in the text attribute of source module, run a filter on the target module such that first five objects are not in the view. Save this as a view. 4. Now, run the Link by Attribute on the source module and try to map the requirements. 5. You will recieve a message saying 'Could not find object x in target module, Quit? If you cancel, no links are created between the objects which were not in the view of the target module. Expected Results: Link by attribute should link to objects even they are not part of the module's default view. Actual Results: No links will be implemented for objects which are not part of the default view. Possible Workarounds: Load standard view in the target/source module manually and then run the Link by Attribute utility.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** According to the old behavior, when a user attempts to create links by attribute, links are created to the objects that are visible in the default view in the target module. User has a requirement that it should be linked to ALL the attributes instead of VISIBLE objects. Current behavior is Objects visible in default view in target module are linked.
Problem conclusion
Both the current behavior and customer's requirement are a valid use case. Hence, we are providing an option to choose between "only objects in default view" or "all the objects". When "only objects in default view" is checked - All the objects in current view are linked (Existing behavior) When "all the objects" is checked - All the objects in the module are linked (New behavior) This will satisfy needs of requested customer as well as existing customers
