Error description
Description of problem: RAD is consuming over 37% CPU continually when Memory Monitor is enabled Environment: - Windows XP (x86) SP3 - RAD/RSA 7.5.5.3 - Product name (Build ID or version/patch level) Step to reproduce: - Create a new workspace - Enable Memory Monitor and set the Poll interval to 15 (Windows > Preferences > General > Performance Monitors > Memory Monitor) - Restart RAD and monitor the CPU usage. Is will stick around 37% Workaround: - Go to Windows > Preferences > General > Performance Monitors > Memory Monitor and change Poll interval to a different value and click apply. - Change the value back to the previous value and again click apply. The CPU usage will drop.

Performance Monitors ? Memory Monitor then the next time the product is started it will consume unnecessary CPU cycles as it is monitoring, by default, every 15 milliseconds.
Problem conclusion
The default memory monitor interval has been corrected to monitor every 15 seconds. The fix for this problem is included in Rational Application Developer version 7.5.5.4 and 8.0.2.
