    The hang occurs after all the messages (written to MTO)
    about QCF customization members being processed occur,
    but before MSGIQC6001I QCF EXTENSION ENABLED is written.
    The SCI is active.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of QCF3.1. Install the APAR and    *
    *                 recycle the control region.                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS hangs after COLDSTART following all *
    *                      the messages that stated that the QCF   *
    *                      customization members are processed.    *
    *                      SCI is started, but message             *
    *                      IQC6001I QCF EXTENSION ENABLED          *
    *                      does not show.                          *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    After connecting to SCI the QCF scheduler waits for IMS CTL
    to finish the restart. IMS CTL waits for a latch owned
    by scheduler (CTX TCB) - and this way both TCBs are in lock.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Resolve the lock.
