PM31734: When mapping a drive on Windows 2000, you receive a 'System error 59 has occurred'

APAR status

• Closed as Permanent restriction.

Error description

• If you are running IBM Rational ClearCase 7.1.2.x, you may
  receive an error when trying to map a drive from command line or
  Microsoft Windows Explorer on a Microsoft Windows 2000 Server.
  
  The error is:
  
  c:\net use p: \\view\view1
    System error 59 has occurred
  
  In the Windows event viewer, you may also see the following
  error occurring at the same time:
  
  cccredmgr(pid) Error: NP Service Add connection failed with
  CreateProcessAsUser, err 5
  
  The workaround is to use the defaul MVFS drive letter, for
  example, the M: drive.

• After analysis of this APAR we have determined we won?t fix
  this issue due to: low priority/severity, the risk of a fix.
   A priority decision has been made that this defect cannot
  be addressed without neglecting issues of higher importance
