Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS Change Management file
created by the product changes the definition of the DECIMAL
column in a SEQUENCE from DECIMAL(15) to DECIMAL(10) without
warning when the "Generate apply jobs . . . . CHANGE" aka
CMDELTA option is specified on panel GOC5 Generate Compare Jobs.

Local fix

  • Do not use the "Generate apply jobs CHANGE" / CMDELTA path to
implement your change, import the DDL into Change Management
directly.

The DB2 Object Comparison Tool DDL Reader's failure to
set the user specified data type length results in a
DB2 processing error SQLCODEN846:

DSNT408I SQLCODE = -846, ERROR:  INVALID
SPECIFICATION OF AN IDENTITY COLUMN OR
SEQUENCE OBJECT sequence_name.
REASON  CODE = 2
