PM29915: ORF PROCESSES THE WRONG DB DATASET

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• This APAR addresses FITS requirement MR0305106510.
  The following condition results in the wrong DB
  dataset being processed by ORF:
  1) The spare has to be RECON1 and the RECONs
     were allocated by JCL.
  2) The user switched the RECONs, and failed
     to INIT the new spare

  Problem: RECONs are provided in the JCL. RECON1 was discarded,
  but has not been redefined yet.  ORF then assumed this
  to be the current copy 1.
  Explanation:  ORF checks the status of the RECON by looking
  for empty to identify a spare.  That failed as the
  spare had not been initialized.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code has been added to identify the true COPY 1.
  Additionally, a warning message is issued when a
  discarded RECON has been found, that is not yet
  reinitialized.
