Error description

  • In DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS panel ADB21T users who use
line command, GEN , on a VIEW object, are presented with panel
    ADB2GEN which omits the option:
      CREATE TRIGGER . . . . . Y (Y,N,D)
    .
This option should be available for DB2 v9 NFM and later.
Problem only occurs when line command GEN is used on a VIEW
object. Using primary command GEN from the command line does
produce the TRIGGER option in subsequent ADB2GEN panel.

Local fix

  • Add the following parm to the GEN job, before submitting:
      GENTRIG = 'Y'

Panels ADB2GEN and ADB2REP does not display the option for
TRIGGER when issuing line command GEN or REP on a VIEW on the
ADB21T 'Tables, Views and Aliases' panel. The GEN line command
and primary command are not supported on panel ADB21VV in DB2
    Administration Tool 10.

Problem conclusion

  • Panels ADB2GEN and ADB2REP were modified to produce the TRIGGER
option when issuing a GEN or REP line command on a view. Panel
ADB21VV was modified to support the GEN function in DB2
    Administration Tool 10.
