  • In DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS, when View contains
    specific columns from table, and column is dropped from
    table using ALC, generated ddl for Create View still
    contains the dropped column resulting in -158.

    *                      fail with a SQLCODE=-158/SQLCODEN158    *
    *                      when validating WSL:                    *

    *                      THE NUMBER OF COLUMNS SPECIFIED         *
    *                      FOR THE VIEW OR TABLE IS NOT THE        *
    *                      SAME AS THE NUMBER OF COLUMNS           *
    *                      SPECIFIED BY THE FULLSELECT,            *
    *                      OR THE NUMBER OF COLUMNS SPECIFIED      *
    *                      IN THE CORRELATION CLAUSE IN A FROM..   *

    The number of columns in the CREATE VIEW statements do not match
    the number of columns in the table. Validate Work Statement
    Lists ( WSL ) will fail with a SQLCODE=-158/SQLCODEN158.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Support to validate the number of view columns when validating
    WSL was added.
