PM24500: ORF ABEND IN CHANGE APPLY LEAVES THE DATABASE UN-ACESSABLE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If an abend occurs during change APPLY, and the database is
  still in the original condition, the DB has the NOAUTH flag
  on in the RECON, locking out all users.
  ORF should reset the NOAUTH indicator if the DB has not
  changed.

  Abend in change apply leaves the DB un-accessable.
  Description:  Database is still using the shadow datasets.
  This could allow to abandon the reorg and make the original
  database available. However, that DB has NOAUTH on.
  

Problem conclusion

• The abterm detection facility has been changed to include
  resetting the DB to AUTH.  Also, the DB will be started
  if it had been stopped.
