  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Administration Tool for         *
  *                 z/OS attempting to alter a table in a        *
  *                 partitioned table space, and alter the       *
  *                 partitioning scheme of the table space       *
  *                 simultaneously.                              *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If an Alter Table operation (ALC)       *
  *                      on a partitioned table space is         *
  *                      performed at the same time              *
  *                      that the partitions are re-defined      *
  *                      (using RDEF), and parallel unload       *
  *                      is specified in panel ADB27A, data      *
  *                      may be lost.                            *
  *                                                              *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  Specifying parallel unload causes the Unload utility to
  unload the table's data into one data set for each
  partition.  If those partitions are re-defined, the Load
  utility does not have the capability of correctly re-
  distributing the data according to the new partition
  definitions.
  

Problem conclusion

• If the partition definitions of a table space are changed
  in conjunction with an alter of a table in that table space,
  parallel Unload/Load of the altered table is converted
  to a non-parallel Unload/Load.
