Error description

  • This APAR will address two problems:
    - ABENDU4013 in HP Unload.
    - BMP PAUSE fails when ORF processes the entire DBD for a
      HALDB database.
We ran ORF on a HALDB database while a BMP was already running.
When ORF reached the point that it needed to stop the db to
copy to the shadow, it caused the BMP to ABENDU3303. It was my
impression the BMP would stay in the initiator with a pause/
    resume instead of abending.

    ****************************************************************
This APAR is correcting the following problems:
    1. When ORF does the entire DBD, HALDB is not recognized.
The BMP is interrupted using abend 3303.
Explanation: When a BMP is paused because of a HALDB, it
should not abend (3303) the application. However,
when the entire DB is done, no partition info is
available. This causes not to recognize a HALDB.
    2. Abend 4013 in HP Unload.
Explanation: A partition selection exit is used for the DB.
When copying the HALDB attributes, the keystring was
truncated by removing the x'FF' portion from the end
of the keystring. This should not be done for any
    partition selection exit.

Problem conclusion

  • The following changes have been made for the above problems:
    1. HALDB recognition flag is now being set when the entire
    DB is reorganized.
    2. The truncation of the keystring has been turned off for
HALDBs with a partition selection exit.
