Error description
A ByteBuffer was prematurely moved to the end and never rewound, giving misinformation about the kind of system that is running during a later check of that ByteBuffer. Additional Symptoms: Problem is triggered by ZIOP=all and ORBRas=all tracing.
Local fix
We rewind the ByteBuffer so that its contents can be read accurately. To obtain ZIOP=all tracing, use the following trace specification: ZIOP=all:com.ibm.ws390.ziop.ZIOPChannelBridge=all=disabled
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V6.1.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: For WebSphere Application Server v6.1 * * on z/OS, an inbound IIOP request * * suffers a CORBA::UNKNOWN exception with * * minor code C9C26A21 when 'SASRas=all' or* * 'ZIOP=all=enabled' tracing is enabled. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The enabled tracing prints from and advances a ByteBuffer that needs to be read again later, but the second time the ByteBuffer is accessed it is already at its end, implicitly giving misleading information about its contents.
Problem conclusion
The offending ByteBuffer now gets rewound before it is reread after the tracing advances it to its end. APAR PK13952 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.33 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1.
